Aarya demonstrates her commitment through her public awareness campaigns. She chose to change the perception of how we look at our cultural heritage. Aarya is not only advocating for ‘Preservation of Cultural Heritage’, but also creates change as a leader of transformative initiatives.
She has been a ‘heritage warrior’ since the age of 8. Aarya was named as, ‘The youngest citizen to take an initiative for conservation of heritage,’ by Governor of Gujarat, Shri. OP Kohli.
Education Minister of Gujarat, Ahmedabad District Collector, Former Mayor and Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad, support her work for preservation of heritage through her creativity and lecture presentations.
In Sept 2018, Aarya presented her work on ‘Ahmedabad heritage’ at UNESCO Geneva, Switzerland to Mr. Bobir Tukhtabayev.
‘On every climate front, the only solution is decisive action’. Aarya was glad to be one of the youngest climate champions to participate and interact with other climate warriors and organization heads. The program was organized by UNICEF India, in collaboration with Climate Change Dept, Gujarat and Elixir foundation. The meeting emphasized on mitigating #climate change, reinforcing our efforts on #climate action leading way to #sustainability #sustainable living.
Aarya was invited by ‘GEMS Legacy School’, Dubai, as a Guest Speaker for the ‘Right to Read’ virtual-live event on 23rd June 2023. Aarya shared her work and her journey so far of writing books on topics crucial in today’s world along with her campaigns on ‘preservation of cultural heritage’ and ‘sustainable living-caring for climate’. Interacting with 950 enthusiastic students over a 40 minute session, across borders was an absolutely delightful experience for Aarya.

Elixir Foundation organized, UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers 2022 – Let’s Heritage Program in the Historic City of Ahmedabad. Aarya was invited as a guest speaker to address on “Preservation of Cultural Heritage” and motivate the youth who participated from 4 countries. The event was supported by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad University, multiple stakeholders, including government agencies.
Through her campaign on “Sustainable living -Caring for Climate” Aarya mobilized 1000+ youth for a significant cause to save environment. Organized by School of Science in collaboration with Rotary Club, Rotarians along with students from grade 5 till grade 10 participated in the event.
Presentation and interactive session was organized by RR Mehta College of Science and CL Parikh College of Commerce for the college students where over 400 students participated along with campus cleanup and plantation drive.
An interactive session on “Sustainable Living -Caring for Climate” by Aarya Chavda was organized by Vidhya Bhawan Society in Udaipur. Aarya mobilized students from 3 primary schools of Vidhya Bhawan Society and discussed on ways to work towards sustainable living to enhance action and awareness for a better future.
On the occasion of ‘National Girl Child Day’ UNICEF India organized ‘Kanya Mahotsav’ where Aarya represented UNICEF Gujarat and moderated the online event while presenting her work and interacting with Union Women & Child Minister of India Ms. Smriti Irani & UNICEF Regional Director of South Asia Mr. George Laryea- Adjei. UNICEF India Chief, children from six states, along with Chief Secretaries from different states and UT’s were also present in the event.
On the occasion of World Children’s Day, Aarya was the youngest change maker to deliver her talk and to be part of ‘The Young Change Makers Talk Series’ organized by UNICEF India, Elixir Foundation and Gujarat Youth Org. In her 20 minute speech she exchanged views on how the youth should come together to create a better future. Children from 30 schools participated in this event.

It was a proud moment for India when little Aarya was invited by Ms. Mechtild Rossler, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Paris, to participate in ‘The Opening Ceremony of the 43rd World Heritage Committee in Baku, Azerbaijan.’ Aarya represented India and was honored to share stage with Her Excellency, Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director General, UNESCO. She presented narratives from her book ‘Ahmedabad, my city my heritage’ in front of 2500 dignitaries from 180 countries, including ministers, ambassadors of international organizations, along with members of Azerbaijani government.
In April 2020, UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Paris invited Aarya to advocate worldwide campaign “Share our Heritage” to call upon children around the world to participate for ‘Little Artist’s exhibition’. Through this campaign, children from 55 countries shared global cultural diversity. It was a rare opportunity given to Aarya to bring positive message of hope and to engage children to enhance their understanding of global cultural diversity during difficult times of COVID- 19.
In January 2021, Aarya was invited as Guest of Honor in presence of Chief Guest, Hon. Union Minister of Environment, Govt of India, Shri Prakash Javadekar in award ceremony of “Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi”- National Environment Youth Forum 2021. Through her speech, she shared her views from her book “Seeds of Hope” on sustainable living, caring for climate. 25000+ students from 350+ colleges and 75+ universities across India participated in this forum to raise awareness on saving our environment.
Through her passion for writing, Aarya has continued to inspire thousands of children. All of her books have been published in digital platforms like UNESCO Digital library and UNESCO Global Citizenship Education. Through these platforms, her books are read by readers of all age worldwide.
In her role, Aarya actively contributes in raising awareness through her campaigns. She sets a path for younger generation like her, and urges fellow citizens to take steps towards preservation of heritage and sustainable living.
