Aarya Chavda: Author, Illustrator, Speaker,
Heritage & Environment Crusader.
As children, how do we truly define a better understanding towards the right to choose, right to dream and right to self-express? My book, ‘Rising Beyond’ emphasizes on the true meaning that there is no duty more important than ensuring that children’s rights are respected.
We, as the youth, have a huge potential to turn the table & change the course of our future. As children, we need to change our mindset & enhance our understanding on the current scenario, to become more eco-conscious towards preserving our cultural heritage & protecting our Mother Earth.
Ardent and zealous reformer of change, 14-year-old Aarya Chavda embarked on her journey as an Author, Illustrator, Speaker, Heritage and Environment Crusader, at the age of 6, demonstrating her exceptional talents and passion. As I close my eyes, and dive into my oneness, I expand myself, and soar high in the sky, like a chirpy little bird.
While writing, my feelings, thoughts, emotions and ideas, represent my wings that support in reaching out to my life and surroundings, like a bird.
As rightly quoted by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, ‘A pen is mightier than a sword’. With this, I voice my words to raise awareness on topics which are crucial in today’s world, such as practice of peace, equality, living sustainably, caring for climate, and preserving our cultural heritage. True in universal value, I connect myself with the nature and this is how I ideate while writing a book.

Every morning, I look forward for the sun to appear, the cool breeze to blow, and the sweet chirpy call of the birds, that makes my mind linger on thoughts of India’s marvelous cultural heritage and its beauty. The thought on the essence of our cultural heritage has a constant presence in my life. Never could I be able to stop wondering about the importance of our culture, heritage and surroundings. I pondered over these sites quite often, my mind wondering about the actual role of UNESCO in preservation of heritage sites throughout world. After an extensive research, I found out that one of the main roles of UNESCO is to encourage countries to protect and preserve their natural, historical and cultural heritage. UNESCO also works to safeguard our planet’s future for the coming generations. Heritage conservation is important for identifying, recording and protecting heritage and cultural resources. It not only provides a sense of identity, but also provides continuity in a fast changing world for the future generations.
The diversity of the Indian culture is evident to the whole world as India has one of the largest collections of songs, music, dance, theatre, folk traditions, performing arts, rites and rituals, languages, dialects, paintings and writing, that are known, as the, ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’.
